The Conservation Committee’s goal is to organize safe and educational river clean-ups to work towards improving quality of life in the community. We encourage community members to volunteer their time to leave a direct and positive impact on their watershed. Community members will be able to see first-hand the trash littering their watershed and the impacts of cleaning it up.
The Mad River is the source of drinking water for approximately 65% of Humboldt County’s population and is a symbol of health in our community. It also provides habitat for numerous natural communities.
Do you know of an area in the Mad River watershed that needs to be cleaned up? Let us know! Leave the longitude/latitude or a nearby address and a description of the location so that we can add your suggestion to our list of clean-up sites.
